Former Shin Bet chief warns Temple Mount attack would trigger 'total war'

An attack by extreme-right Jews on the Temple Mount would trigger a large-scale war between Israel and the Muslim world, former Shin Bet chief Carmi Gillon told Haaretz.com readers on Thursday.

During an Haaretz Q&A session responding to questions from readers, the former head of the domestic security service said far-right militants now pose serious threats to mosques in Jerusalem's Temple Mount compound.

"The consequences of such an act can be a disaster for the existence of the State of Israel and can bring a total war between the Muslim world, Israel and maybe against Jewish targets abroad," Gillon said.
Gillon headed the domestic security service in the mid-90s, when rising Israeli political tensions over the Oslo Accords culminated in the November 1995 assassination of prime minister Yitzhak Rabin.

A few months before the assassination, Gillon warned that fiery rhetoric by right-wing figures was encouraging radicals and fostering an atmosphere of violence. He left the service following the assassination.

Gillon warned on Thursday that another assassination of a prime minister would pose a strategic threat to Israeli society.

The former domestic security chief said that, despite the recent upsurge in Palestinian violence, he still has hopes Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas is motivated to seek peace.

"For the time being, he [Abbas] is not demonstrating the ability to act against the militants but we should give him time to gather his forces and to show his ability to rule the PA," Gillon said.

He also said the PA security forces possess both the knowledge and the means to enforce order in the Palestinian-controlled territories.

"What they still need is motivation to act against violence," Gillon said.

Calling for an end to Israel's occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip, Gillon said "the pullout is an Israeli need and not necessarily a Palestinian need and it comes to serve the needs of Israeli society."

Touching on the potential nuclear threat Iran might pose to Israel, Gillon said the issue "should be treated very carefully first with diplomatic means."

In 2001, Gillon was named ambassador to Denmark. The appointment led to a brief diplomatic crisis, after Gillon said that Israel might have to resume using "moderate physical pressure" to fight terrorism.

He is currently mayor of Mevasseret Zion, located outside Jerusalem.

The Israeli extreme-right appeared bent yesterday on waging a guerrilla war against the planned pullout from the Gaza Strip, vowing to bring the country to its knees after causing chaos on the roads.

Around 300 demonstrators were arrested late Monday as ultra-nationalist opponents of the so-called disengagement plan blocked dozens of roads across the country in a game of cat-and-mouse with the police during rush hour.
Drivers were left fuming as huge traffic jams built up, but the organisers said Tuesday they had only just started.

Earlier more than one-fourth of Gaza Strip settler families have agreed to relocate to southern Israel, a settler leader said Tuesday the biggest crack so far in the formidable wall of opposition to the Gaza pullout this summer.
But while some settlers were beginning to reconcile themselves to the notion of being uprooted, die-hard opponents claimed victory after snarling traffic at more than 100 intersections with burning tires and sit-down strikes Monday evening.
Their objective: to tie up police for hours in a dress rehearsal for diversionary operations designed to scuttle the evacuation.

Baruch Marzl, one of the ringleaders, said he hoped the government would be persuaded to abandon its plan to leave the occupied Palestinian territory with more direct action.

"The operation yesterday was a huge success, and if we continue with this kind of determination we will be able to paralyse not only the traffic but the whole country and put an end to this whole plot," Marzl told Israeli radio.
Another of the protest organisers said police had shown a reluctance to crack down on the activists, which boded well for future attempts to block the pullout from Gaza which is due to begin in mid-August.

"The police did not act violently against us yesterday which shows that they understand that Jews cannot expel other Jews from their home," said Orit Spitz.
Soldiers and police who will take part in the operation to uproot the 8,000 Gaza settlers will be unarmed, hoping that sheer weight of numbers will overwhelm the opposition of the settlers.

However the events of Monday night appeared to demonstrate the limitations of manpower alone, especially in the face of well-organised protests.
Meanwhile, Israeli security services revealed Monday they had arrested nine people suspected of plotting to attack the third holiest site in Islam as Jewish militants stepped up their bid to wreck the Gaza Strip pullout.

News of last month's arrests emerged as a major operation was staged to prevent ultra-nationalists from bringing the nation's traffic to a standstill.
The arrests of the nine, who have all been released, followed an operation led by the Shin Beth internal security agency on suspicion that a group intended to buy one or more anti-tank missiles to attack Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, police sources said.

There is a lot of hype these days about the new Star Wars film “Revenge of the Sith”. Some socially aware individuals have noticed parallels between the plot of the movie and the current state of political affairs today. George W. Bush and Darth Vader are drawing parallel comparisons.

I think I mentioned this before, Hollywood films, especially high profile ones like this, have a hidden message directed towards the public. It is not a coincidence. Sounds like more mental conditioning for the arrival of the NWO.

• George Lucas, the creator of the Star Wars saga, has said over and over again that he simply plays on subconscious archetypal symbols that evoke primeval fears and passions. Lucas has also stated on many occasions that he draws from historical examples of imperial leaders' lust for war and total power.
• Lucas has said that that is why his films have such a powerful effect of people. Deep down, everyone knows that the greatest threat to life and liberty isn't the average criminal on the street, but the monolithic, all-powerful state. The human desire to resist tyranny is one of the strongest drives we have and Lucas plays upon that instinct masterfully.
• How can they not ask this when Darth Vader says to his former teacher Obi-Wan Kenobi, "if you're not with me, then you're my enemy." Remember that Lord Bush, after the 9/11 attacks said, "either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists."
• Episode II begins with a widening conflict that threatens to destroy the hundred thousand-year-old Republic. The newly- elected Chancellor (Palpatine) is able to use the expanding crisis as a pretext to pass police state legislation and to launch a mammoth military buildup. As in Episode I, Darth Sidious is in control of the separatists led by the charismatic Count Dooku, who is his secret apprentice, Darth Tyrannus. Darth Sidious uses his agent (Count Dooku) to create a crisis that threatens to destroy the Republic, thus threatening the Republic's very existence and manipulating the Senate into giving him the powers of a dictator. This is the classic use of problem-reaction-solution. Create a crisis, get the reaction of fear from the population, and offer the solution of a police state that you control. In Episode III, the surviving Jedi realize, when its too late, that the Clone Wars have been systematically engineered by the Lord of the Sith to destroy the Republic and the Jedi. In the end, the Emperor dispatches his dark apprentice, Darth Vader, to exterminate the Jedi and the leaders of the separatist movement (that the Chancellor controlled), leaving the enemies of the Sith dead and the Sith in control of the Central Government. The despotic Galactic Empire is born.
• The New World Order - In Episode III, the Emperor talks about a "New Order." How many Presidents and leaders have we heard spout off about a "New Order" or a "New World Order?" George Bush Senior, Adolph Hitler, and countless others have all called for a New World Order. A New World Order is a worldwide dictatorship. At least that is what the encyclopedia said up until the 1960's. Now resource books, especially those for children tell you that it is a loving, wonderful thing that will keep us all safe from terror.
• Hollywood Movies: Art Imitates Life - I've noticed with fantasy people have trouble understanding the concept of would-be tyrants creating crises so they can offer the solution. We see popular Hollywood films peppered with this idea. For example:
• In the blockbuster, The Incredibles, the evil genius, Syndrome, wants to be worshipped as a super hero, so he stages a robotic attack on a US city which he plans to then foil and become the people's savior.
• In the film, Final Fantasy, a General who wants to be given dictatorial powers opens the gates so the enemy can attack New York and then discredit his peacenik opponents. There are countless examples of this, and I've noticed that when I talk to adults who have seen these films they don't understand the plots. But, when I talk to children they completely grasp it. From a sociological/psychological perspective, why is there this blind spot in adults? Is it being engineered into us? Are we in denial? If so many intelligent people can't grasp a children's plot line, no wonder they can't really understand what's behind 9/11.

Kabbalist Blesses Jones: Now´s the Time to Find Holy Lost Ark

An unnamed Kabbalist has granted blessing to famed archeologist Dr. Vendyl Jones to uncover the Holy Ark of the Covenant. Jones plans to excavate the Lost Ark by the Tisha B’Av Fast this summer.

The famed archaeologist, the inspiration for the “Indiana Jones” movie series, has spent most of his life searching for the Ark of the Covenant. The ark was the resting place of the Ten Commandments, given to the Jewish people at Mount Sinai, and was hidden just before the destruction of the First Temple.

The Talmud says the Ark is hidden in a secret passage under the Temple Mount. Jones says that the tunnel actually continues 18 miles southward, and that the Ark was brought through the tunnel to its current resting place in the Judean Desert.

Throughout the many years of his quest, Jones has been in close contact and under the tutelage of numerous Rabbis and Kabbalists. Extremely knowledgeable in Torah, Talmud and Kabbalah sources dealing with Holy Temple issues, Jones has now received permission from both known and secret Kabbalists to finally uncover the lost ark.

Dr. Jones, who divides his time between Texas and Israel, has been here since March 9th ready to finally reveal the Ark. However, he has been waiting for both permission from the mysterious Kabbalist and for project funding to come through.

As recently as last month, the rabbi, who only communicates via messenger, told Jones that the time was not yet right to discover the Temple vessels.

Last Thursday, however, Dr. Jones received a communication from the rabbi reading, “The time is right.”

Armed with this and other blessings, Jones is now excited to uncover his life's pursuit. He believes the ark will be discovered by Tisha B'Av (Aug. 14), a day of repeated tragedy in Jewish history. Most notably, it is the anniversary of the destruction of both the First and Second Holy Temples.

Noahide guru Jones says that the State of Israel is passing through the same biblical straights as the generation that first entered Israel after the exodus from Egypt. “If history repeats itself, the history itself is prophecy,” Jones says.

“Israel is different from all other nations in a lot of ways, but more than anything else, Israel is the only nation whose history was written before it happened.”

Once a Christian pastor, Jones left his post to become a leader of the growing Noahide movement. Noahides are G-d fearing non-Jews who observe the seven laws of Noah, which are obligatory upon all of humanity.

The explorer and teacher published a book in 1959 predicting the precise outbreak of the Six Day War, based on his analysis of the period from the Exodus from Egypt up until the First Temple Period. He says that applying biblical analysis to modern times points to major events that will “turn the world right-side-up.”

Jones calculated the war in 1967 by analyzing the sequence of events in the First Temple Period and transposing them onto the "Third Temple Period” – the period beginning with the Jews’ foundation of an independent State in the Land of Israel in 1948.

“It fits just like tongue in groove,” he says.

Jones analyzed the following passage from the book of Bamidbar (Numbers): “Every man from 20 years old and upward, all that are able to go to war...". He said it could be read this way, "So from 20 years old and upward, all that are able to go, went to war in Israel.”

“Well, ’67 was the 20th year,” said Jones, who received acclaim for fighting as a non-listed soldier in the Six Day War. He was the only non-Jewish American to take part in the combat.

“Two years at Mt. Sinai, and then the Jewish people went to Kadesh Barnea,” he says, referring to the time immediately following the Exodus. Transposing the Jewish people’s first entry into Israel via the Jericho region and the re-entry to those areas in 1967, one can find striking similarities.

“At Kadesh Barnea, [the Jewish Nation] sent in those [twelve] spies who gave the evil report, and because they believed the evil report, they were sentenced to wander for 38 years before they could come into Gilgal” – an ancient city near Jericho.

“1967 was a repetition of Kadesh Barnea,” Jones says. “If Israel had come in and taken this place, the Arabs would have fled like they did in 1948. But no, because of the evil report of Golda Meir and Motta Gur and Moshe Dayan, who said ‘We cannot do that, world opinion will be against us.’ So Israel was sentenced to 38 years more – and June the 7th [2005], Jerusalem Day, will be the 38th year.

Jones believes that the Jewish prophecies regarding the greatly anticipated redemption are occuring in front of our eyes.

Jones' escapades and explorations were the inspiration for the blockbuster movie 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' of the 'Indiana Jones' trilogy. The man who wrote the first draft of the film, Randolph Fillmore, was one of the volunteers who worked with Jones in 1977.

“I agreed to help him write the movie,” Jones said, “as long as – number one – he wouldn’t set it here (in Israel). Some people believe the ark is in Ethiopia or Egypt, some believe its in Constantinople or Rome. I just didn’t want it to be portrayed as being here. The second thing was, 'Don’t use my name.' So he didn’t. My name is Vendyl – V-E-N-D-Y-L. So he just dropped the first and last letters and it ended up Endy Jones.”

Although at the time of the film, Jones was far from pinpointing the location of the Ark, he has come a long way since then. With the help of an ancient document found in Qumran together with the Dead Sea Scrolls, known as the “Copper Scroll”, Dr. Jones is convinced he has pinpointed the location of the Ark of the Covenant.

“In the copper scroll, the first five lines say, 'In the desolations of the Valley of Achur, in the opening under the ascent, which is a mountain facing eastward, covered by forty placed boulders – here is a tabernacle and all the golden fixtures,'” Jones says.

"This is what we have been looking for all these years, and I’ve walked over those boulders thousands of times without really stepping back and looking – realizing ‘hey, those boulders have been brought in here, they’ve been placed in here, they didn’t come off a mountain. And they’re huge.’”

Jones recounts his early explorations into the tunnels which lead from the ancient Old City of Jerusalem, near Jaffa Gate, to the foot of the Dead Sea. “My son and I went an hour and 20 minutes into the tunnel. There were so many branches and we didn’t have anything to mark the route, so I said, ‘We better get out of here and come back with a roll of string.’ Then I made the mistake of asking permission to do it. That was before I learned that Israel is a lot like heaven - it is a lot easier to get forgiveness than it is permission.”

Dr. Jones, wearing an orange anti-disengagement bracelet, dismisses the current Israeli government's plan to uproot the Jews of Gaza and northern Samaria from their homes. "There will not be any disengagement, nor will there be any Palestinian State,” he says.

Jones, who has a photographic memory, quotes: “Chapter One in Isaiah: 'How has the holy city become a harlot? Righteousness filled the street, but now murderers. The ruler is a friend of thieves and the ministers desire bribes.'”

“The prophet wasn’t talking about his day – he was talking about now. ‘Therefore, says the L-rd, I will restore them to their beginnings. I will set judges up as at first, and counselors as in the beginning.’”

The Sharon government will soon be history, Jones asserts, and the Sanhedrin (the Jewish High Court of 71 judges) will take its place and lead the Jewish people. “The Sanhedrin was established October the 13th of last year. Now all we have to do is have an election to elect counselors. The Sanhedrin is like a Senate and the elected counselors are like a House of Representatives.”

Dr. Jones says the discovery of the lost ark will “flip the whole world right-side-up.”

“I just gotta drill a bore-hole into the chamber, drop a pin-camera in and there it is. And everything is gonna change, believe me. The Jewish people are gonna come back.”

Additional info on the real Indiana Jones





Vendyl was born in 1930 in Sudan,Texas. He was raised a Baptist and by the age of 16 had supposedly confessed Jesus as his Lord and Saviour. Wanting to be in the Lord's Service he went to Southwestern Theological Seminary earning a Divinity degree. He went on to Bible Baptist Seminary and obtained a Masters Degree. He then continued on his Lord's business and attended Bowen Biblical Museum for advanced studies under Dr. & Mrs. William Bowen and Archaeologist, W.F. Albright.
In 1955 at the age of 25 and still wet behind the ears, he went out to begin pastoring with a lot of book learning but no knee experience. He was voted in as Pastor of the Dungan Chapel Baptist Church on the border of Virginia and North Carolina. He was not a good preacher, just a fair speaker. He quit the Church and renounced Jesus as Lord and Saviour in October 1956. He then moved to Greenville, NC where under Rabbi Henry Barneis he began his Talmudic conversion to Phariseeism. From Rabbi to Rabbi he journeyed, learning new ways and arguments for justification of his recanting Jesus and the New Testament and why the Phariseeism Jesus rejected should now be embraced by all the world.
Vendyl confessed years after his Jewish conversion, that it was while reading his New Testament in 1955 and while pastoring at Dungan that all of a sudden he was struck by what he alleged were "anti-Jewish statements in the Gospels." He reports that in the margin of HIS Bible there were notes that said: "Omitted in more ancient manuscripts." He of course was referring to Mat 27:25, the famous blood libel which Jews, Catholics, and many others say Matthew lied about or is not in the ancient manuscripts. In an e-mail to Mr. Jones's organization in 1997, I asked for the name of that Bible and the publisher. They have refused to make that information available.
Mr. Jones hints that Matthew's alleged blood libel upset him after all his nine years of extensive Baptist schooling. He began to seek for a Synagogue where he could get a Jewish slant on this. He found one in Bristol, Tennessee, where Rabbi Henry Gutman was more than happy to convert and brainwash him into antichrist propaganda that Jesus and the Apostles were false prophets and the New Testament was a clever fraud loaded with antisemitism.
Mr. Jones reports that this encounter so shook him that he made a "change" in his perspectives (faith, Covenant, doctrine, and salvation). What were the changes made in this new perspective?
1.) He threw down the babe in the manger (believes Jesus was not born of a virgin, that Sarah's birth of Isaac was the virgin birth?),
2.) The twelve year old boy on his bar-mitzvah in Jerusalem (believes this may have happened but God was not his father),
3.) The thirty year old young man whom John called the Lamb of God (believes this is false),
4.) The Messiah who defeated the devil in his three temptations (believes this is false),
5.) The Jesus who blessed little children (believes Jesus actually cursed them),
6.) The healer who touched the blind and lame and made them whole (he believes it never happened and if it did, Jesus used trickery and demon powers etc),
7.) The sea walker (believes this is a falsehood),
8.) The resurrection of Lazarus (believes this never happened),
9.) The daughter of Zion's King (believes Jesus was an impostor),
10.) The Passover Cup representing Jesus' blood of the New Covenant (he recants the cup),
11.) The Cross of Calvary (believes Jesus deserved to die for blasphemy),
12.) The resurrection (believes this is false it never happened),
13.) The great commission to preach the Gospel in all the world (believes this is false),
14.) The glorious ascension (believes this is false it never happened),
15.) The outpouring of the Holy Ghost on the day of Pentecost, and the entire history of Saints and Messianic Believers for over 1900 years (believes this is all a fraud trying to replace Israel, Judaism, the temple, the Law, and animal sacrifices).
He recanted and threw all of this away and trod underfoot the blood of Jesus and brought it to an open shame (Heb 6:6). He is believed to then had himself circumcised in the flesh and fully embraced Pharisee Judaism. He denied Jesus as his Lord and Saviour. He recanted that Jesus was Messiah come in the flesh. He repudiated the Lord's Passover Cup. This is the Vendyl Jones who today is a world leader in the Gentile Noahide movement trying to get millions of other Gentiles to recant Jesus and also flee to Pharisee Judaism like he did. There will be a whole lot of recanting before we get home, ...and it won't be Catholics wanting you to recant something about the Pope or some other Papal heresy. Will you recant to go back under Law-keeping, Phariseeism, Noahidism, or Talmudism? We shall see, the trend is to recant Jesus and convert to keeping the Law.

The deadly H5N1 bird flu strain that has been plaguing southeast Asia appears to be evolving in a way that may signal a greater threat of a human flu pandemic, according to a World Health Organization report.

Human cases of avian influenza in northern Vietnam in 2005 are showing an epidemiological pattern and virological features which differ from those seen in the 2004 cases. They also differ from those currently seen in human cases in southern Vietnam and other Asian countries.

In particular, though not yet proven, the differences indicate the virus may have already been transmitted from human-to-human, a worrying prospect. It also suggests the viral strain in northern Vietnam may be more infectious but less virulent than elsewhere, i.e. more easily spread but less likely to cause death in sufferers.

"While the implications of these epidemiological and virological findings are not fully clear, they demonstrate that the viruses are continuing to evolve and pose a continuing and potentially growing pandemic threat," says the WHO report on influenza A/H5N1 in humans in Asia. The report is based on its consultation meeting of experts in Manila, Philippines on 6 and 7 May.

The great fear is that bird flu could hybridise with human influenza or evolve to create a deadly and easily transmissible pandemic strain that could sweep across the globe, killing millions.

"Things are getting more and more worrisome," says flu expert John Oxford, at Queen Mary University of London, UK. "It does look as though the virus is moving towards being less virulent but more infectious ñ if that's the way it's going, that's not good news at all." Symptomless cases

The WHO document notes that while 83% of human cases in southern Vietnam die, and 71% of cases in Thailand in 2004. In northern Vietnam, the strain is felling 34% of sufferers, though that would still be devastating if millions of people became infected.

Furthermore, three cases of symptomless infections have also been seen in people who had close contact with confirmed cases in Vietnam "suggesting that milder H5N1 infections are occurring".

"A virus with a mortality rate of 70% is never going to get very far," says Oxford, as too many hosts die before infecting large numbers of other people. But he believes that if the virus really has changed in virulence, human-to-human transmission may be the next step.

Other evidence pointing to a change in the virus's nature includes more clusters of human cases in north Vietnam compared with the south. The ages of victims has also changed in northern Vietnam, with the average age rising from 17 in 2004 to 31 in 2005. The range of ages affected is also much wider, from babies to people over 80.

Lab observations indicate the virus has changed. Specific gene changes have been pinpointed in the Vietnam strains from 2005, although it is unclear what their significance is. Crippled virus

Analysis also revealed that drug resistance to the flu drug oseltamivir had partially evolved in one patient treated with the medicine. "The community emergence and spread of viruses resistant to oseltamivir, if it were to occur, would have significant implications for prevention and control," warns the document.

However, Oxford believes this is less concerning than the other changes. He says full drug resistance in human flu strains somewhat "cripples" their effectiveness in spreading.

The WHO recommends that countries ramp up their flu pandemic preparedness plans, stockpile antiviral drugs, and explore ways of making human H5N1 vaccine available to affected Asian countries before a pandemic develops.

Though the situation is concerning, it "still hasn't exploded", notes Oxford. "We have more time to prepare ourselves," he told New Scientist. But countries without a pandemic preparedness plan "should wake up", he says, "otherwise it'll be like a tsunami wave and we'll all be caught in it".
